Key priorities
The Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner’s (the Office) top priorities for 2023–24 were as follows:
Timeliness and effectiveness
- Continue to implement the recommendations following the 2021 LEAN exercise to further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes, and including a new case management system;
- Continue its efforts to stabilize operations and support the retention of staff in the context of a hybrid work model.
Awareness and access to information
- Participate strategically in events targeted to public servants;
- Implement the recommendations of the evaluation done in 2022–23 by undertaking a comprehensive redesign of the PSIC website.
Highlights
In 2023–24, total actual spending (authorities used) (including internal services) for the Office was $6,776,967 and total full-time equivalent staff (including internal services) was 32.8. The following provides a summary of the department’s achievements in 2023–24 according to its approved Departmental Results Framework. A Departmental Results Framework consists of a department’s core responsibilities, the results it plans to achieve and the performance indicators that measure progress toward these results.

Departmental results achieved
In 2023–24, the Office has:
- continued to implement recommendations from the Lean exercise conducted in 2021;
- adapted its work processes and developed new tools to optimize resources to overcome an important surge in new files received;
- implemented and customized a new case management system;
- submitted a budget request to increase reference levels to address the increase in files;
- promoted a transparent, collegial, collaborative and supportive work environment to stabilize the operations and support the retention of staff;
- continued to work on redesigning both the content and structure of the Office’s website; and
- reached nearly 7,500 participants across 24 events.
